"P" Button
Timer & Power ON / OFF Control

Press once to turn ‘on’ - press again to turn ‘off’. When ‘on’ the adjacent ‘Time’ indicator will flash green.

Delayed action timer.
If no changes are made to the operation of the massage chair during any period of approximately 18 minutes, it will automatically turn itself off. This means that the chair cannot accidentally left on for long periods of time and will automatically power down should you fall asleep or leave the chair forgetting to turn it off.

"F" Button

Massage Type Control

Pressing the "F" button selects one of six pre-programmed massage patterns.
The green indicators register the type of massage pattern being employed.

"I" Button
Massage Intensity Control

Press to increase or decrease the intensity of the massage - each press cycles the massage intensity to the next level. Four massage intensities can be utilised the intensity selected being identified by the four green indicators. The selection controls all massage areas in use and adjusts the degree of pressure applied by all programmed massage patterns

"M" Buttons
Massage Zone Control

Pressing an "M" button selects the type of massage to be applied to the body zone selected. You can chose between Needing or Pounding or no massage.
The green indicators mark the body zones being massaged.

"H" Button
Deep Heat Control

Pressing the "H" button turns the heating on and off. The red indicator shows when the heating is on.
Deep Heat is an optional extra and not fitted to all Sterling Massage Chairs

The "M" buttons select / deselect  the following body zones:-

M1  Button - Head & Shoulder Massage
M2  Button - Back Massage
M3  Button - Seat & Thigh Massage
M4  Button - Calf & Foot Massage
       

Fl - The movement moves slowly from up to down, frequency and vibration rate
       change automatically,
F2 - All positions vibrate at the same time, weak to strong cycling movement.
F3 - Head to toe massage by pounding.
F4 - Head to toe massage by kneading.
F5 - Head to toe massage by pounding and kneading.
FCycle  -  Massage cycles through all five patterns Fl to F5. Each massage pattern                   lasts about ninety seconds before changing to the next.

Do not mistake the powerful 'Micro Power System' massage for the disordered massage effect produced by simple 'vibrating' type chairs. 

Each of the eight massage motors in the 'Micro Power System' is independently controlled by a 'state of the art' computer chip. Continuing development of the software has created a number of unique energy patterns, each providing a distinct, truly 'sensational', massage form, including tapping, kneading, stretching and rolling. These effects are not restricted to the back and shoulders as in roller based chairs and can be applied to a single chosen area or the whole body 

With the combination of 'Deep Heat' and the 'Micro Power System' the Sterling Senator massage chair has been designed for maximum relaxation and enjoyment rather than therapeutic use. However, when used over a reasonable period the Senator provides optimum relief for the vast majority of customers aches and pains.

For those who require a deep back massage to relieve pain but do not require 'Deep Heat', the new Sterling 'Statesman' massage chair, combining all the massage features of the Senator with Sterling's powerful new 16 roller massage system will be available in December 2002
